Celebrities and mere mortals alike have been sharing their #FirstSevenJobs on social media over the past week. The trend began after an Alaskan songwriter asked her fans what their first seven jobs were to drum up some inspiration for a song.

Celebrities like Steven Colbert and Buzz Aldrin have shared how their careers started.

And while it’s been cool to see how the everyone on the internet’s careers got started, we’re really interested to know who got their careers started? Because we believe in the power of referral networks, this question has been really nagging us this week. Given that 40% of all hires come from referrals, it’s easy to estimate that almost 3 of all of our #FirstSevenJobs came from an introduction from a friend, family member, or even a neighbor.

That’s why we want to know:

Who Introduced You to the *First* of Your #FirstSevenJobs — and what has that meant for your career?

Share your story about who got you your first (or all seven) job below in the comments, or tweet @Draftedapp with your story! We’ll add and update the best ones below.

Seth Godin (@thisissethsblog) shared that his dad got him his first job on Fred Wilson’s blog post this morning.
