I’m thrilled to share that we’re joining forces with Instawork. Read the press release to learn more about the acquisition and how Drafted and Instawork combine forces.
First and foremost, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you on behalf of the entire Drafted team, past and present, for being a part of our mission to make referrals work for everyone. We built some incredible technology for job matching, people graphs, network search, intros, tracking, and more - all designed to support our mission and be part of a larger vision.
Over the years, as we were building Drafted, I got to know Sumir, the founder and CEO of Instawork. While the Instawork team was building a platform for flexible staffing, focused on connecting people with opportunities, Drafted was starting to get inquiries from companies with flexible staffing needs. A question that became common from our prospects and customers was “Can I use Drafted technology to make a referral program for my hourly employees?”
Post Covid-19, as the world was shifting focus from damage control to recovery, one thing was abundantly clear; flexible work was on the rise, and hourly workers and local businesses were being left behind in the aftermath of pandemic closures. Sumir and I resolved to combine efforts as Drafted technology could serve as the rocket booster to the Instawork marketplace. Our core values were aligned, and we decided it was time to work together for the greater good.
I’m excited about this next leg of the journey, because Instawork is perfectly positioned as the hospitality and light-industrial sectors return to work in the new post-pandemic environment. Instawork has had incredible growth and recently announced a $60M Series C fundraise to rapidly expand its marketplace to connect millions of skilled hourly professionals with local businesses who need their services.
I couldn’t be prouder of our team at Drafted, or more optimistic about the future. Now, let’s get the world back to work.
For Drafted customers
In the short term unfortunately, this means that our focus will be pulled away from existing Drafted customers and the use cases in corporate recruiting that we serve today. We'll be sunsetting the current Drafted product in the coming months.
I know this will be difficult for some of you, since many of your hiring plans are dependent on a successful referral program. For this, my sincerest apologies and a promise that we'll do everything in our power to help you transition efficiently.
Here's what you need to know:
It's only because of you that we accomplished everything we have to date, from serving over 300 businesses to helping 10,000 job seekers on the Layoff Network during the Covid-19 layoffs of 2020. We’ll never forget it.
Feel free to schedule a time to talk with us here - we'll be reaching out to each enterprise customer to assist with transition planning as well, and regardless of the future, we’ll always be available to you to help when we can.
